Born of Hope Trailer and Release Date

So, yesterday, a new trailer for the LOTR fan-made film "Born of Hope" was released on the film's website www.bornofhope.com!! It's totally awesome and I cannot wait for this film about the Dundedain and the events leading up to Aragorn's birth comes out in November 2009. Such a long time to wait but at least it's a lot better than the December 2011 release date for "The Hobbit" and "The Hunt for Gollum" (another fan-made film about Aragorn's search for Gollum--www.thehuntforgollum.com) is being released this December and I can't wait!
I found this article on theonering.net today and thought it was pretty funny--I wish someone at my school would do something like this!

No suspect in sight for Eye of Sauron prank
By Stephen Spector

Posted: 9/23/08 Section: News

A replica of the Eye of Sauron from the Lord of the Ring series hangs from beams on the McFarland Memorial Bell Tower early Sunday Morning.

Those responsible with positioning the Lord of the Ring's Eye of Sauron replica on the McFarland Memorial Bell Tower remain unknown, said Skip Frost, acting Assistant Chief of University Police.

"Apparently some big Lord of the Ring fans hoisted it up there," said Frost. "It's actually pretty cute."

No damage was done to the tower itself.

'Sauron' is the name of the principal antagonist in The Lord of the Rings series.

Frost reports that construction crews dismantled the eye around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

"We're taking advantage of our patrol resources and watching over the area," said Frost. "Someone getting the eye up there is a dangerous task, and we're always making sure that students are in safe hands. It's a construction area, and our main goal is to make this campus secure."

College

So, I have very mixed feelings about college. On the plus side, I like my classes and teachers and I'm keeping up with my homework without too much trouble (and I'm even ahead in some classes), I don't feel homesick yet, I've found this place outside that I really like to go to to study or read or just sit and escape the insaneness of dorm life, and I for the most part really like the cafeteria food. On the downside, I miss all my friends, I haven't become especially close to anyone here yet (I've made a lot of casual friends though and I mean I've only been here 3 1/2 weeks, but still), and I've been getting three or four hours of sleep each night (five or six if I'm lucky) because my roommates stay up way too late (and are noisy therefore making it next to impossible for me to fall asleep before they do) and then sometimes get up really early and so of course their alarm clocks wake me up and I usually am not able to go back to sleep.

However, things got better yesterday, not because I'm getting more sleep, but because I finally have something to do in my spare time besides get ahead in my classes: Brisinger by Christopher Paolini (the third book in the Inheritance Saga) arrived for me from amazon.com!:) I mean, it's a complete rip-off of Lord of the Rings so I kind of feel like a traitor for reading it, but considering the author was only fifteen years old when he started writing the series, it's pretty good (aside from the whole "this guy has no original thoughts" issue, of course). It's 761 pages long but I'm trying to finish it in two weeks (meaning I need to read about fifty pages a day) because Inkdeath by Cornelia Funke comes out October 7 and I ordered it from amazon.com so it should arrive on the 8th or 9th and I really want to be able to start reading it as soon as it arrives (and not have to put aside Brisinger in order to do so).
The Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Teaser Trailer is now online!!!!!! Go to mugglenet.com and the first posting has a link to the video! I've already watched it twice all the way through and then a third time where I paused it at different points to get a better look at all the images that were flashing by at like 100 mph! It's totally awesome although it would have been nice if it hadn't mainly shown the Voldemort pensieve flashback/memory scenes but still it's SO amazing!!!!!

Gandalf Defeated the Spanish Armada

Gandalf Defeated the Spanish Armada
July 16th, 2008 by DiveTwin | Source: Nebusiness.co.uk | Discuss

"OK, this is either really sad … or Peter Jackson did one heck of a job giving “Lord Of The Rings” even more of a historical feel that he intended. An article in the Newcastle (UK) Journal talks about the complaints on how little British kids know about the world is a bit overblown, but then they said:

It may be slightly worrying that in one recent poll fewer than half those questioned knew that Sir Francis Drake defeated the Spanish Armada. And, okay, it’s frankly terrifying that 6% of those questioned thought that this great historical victory was down to the wizard Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.

So I suppose the Corsairs sailing up the Anduin had a Spanish feel to them."

Inkheart and The Hobbit

Why are there THREE release dates for the Inkheart movie????

Also, The Hobbit movie is officially being made with Peter Jackson as producer and it is scheduled to be released in 2010 with a sequel (taking place between the end of The Hobbit and the beginning of Lord of the Rings) scheduled to be released in 2011.

P. S. Viggo Mortensen should have won Best Actor. I've never actually seen Eastern Promises, so I don't know how he did, but he still should have won.
